BOOK COVERS OF UKTAMOYS' POETRY PUBLISHED IN INDIA

Recently Uktamoy (Uktam Khanum) visited India for the releasing of her new published books in India. ‘My heart is Weeping’ translated in English by Qosim Mamourov and ‘Sada Ronda Ey Dil Mahia’ in Punjabi by poet, painter Swarnjit Savi. Both books were Released in Chandigarh By. Dr. Sutinder Singh Noor and Dr. Saroa and in Ludhiana by Dr. K. S. Kang Vice Chancellor Punjab Agricultural. Uktamoy is translated into Punjabi only after Zulfia Khanum of Uzbekistan, who was translated 20 years back by Amrita Pritam, and this time Uktamoy by Swarnjit Savi. A chain of programmes was organized to facilitate Uktamoy’s books at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Fridkot and Amritsar.
Everybody including the most important literary critics like Dr. SS Noor, Amarjit Grewal, Dr. Niranjan Tasneem, Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Manjit Indra , Dr. Raina, Navtej Bharti, Dr. Jagdev Singh, Prof. Aziz Parihar, Jaswant Zafar, Devendra Paul, Sushil Disanjh,Dr. Ambrish ,Nita Mohindra, Bhupinderpreet, Gurtej Koharwala,Vijay Vivek, Terjwinder Brar, Dev Dard and Bipan Preet from Punjabi, English and Urdu appricaited the poetry and welcomed the books particularly in Punjabi.

SIDHARTH AND HIS ARTWORLD

S I D H A R T H
is an aura around the art world that has his roots in punjab and a fragrance throughout the world.
The alchemy of his colours is a mystic magic that becomes the the part of viewer mind and body touching every micro cell . His voice when enters for the first time declares the echo will be a permanent part of what we call ' Myself '.
In recent days i was blessed with some great moments in Ludhiana and Delhi in the ' Toone haari ' company of Sidharh- his paintings,music and films. I am feeling proud to share some photos with you.........

Recently at India Habitat Center, a seminar, film and slide show was organised " Sidharth 2008-09". Slide show of his new paintings- The Dacorated Cow, film about his life and works by K Vikram Singh and a film by Sidharth was on a screen alongwith an introduction by Dr. Madan Gopal Singh and a paper about Sidharth by Sushma Behl.

After the show a wonderful evening was organised at Sidharth's studio-4. A river of sufi singing by Dr. Madan Gopal Singh, Bhai Baldeep Singh and Jassi was flowing alongwith the sculpters, paintings and the colours of the alchemist Sidharth. Everybody was spellbound , timelessness was dominating even when Amarjit Grewal, Navtej Bharti, Jatinderpreet, Amarjit Sathi,Gurpreet and me was coming back to ludhiana .

Bandeep from India Today, Deepak Tondon, Gurdeep, Shivangi and Gaurja were among the gallaxy of artists.

KHAJURAHO - A WONDER IN SANDSTONE

Recently when Ajmer Rode visited India, we planned to visit Khajuro along with Amarjit Grewal – with a dense jungle within . We started from Ludhiana on a taxi and the first night was at Agra. Next morning the Taj was there in front of us with all for what it is known for. The grandure of the Taj was diluted the same evening when we reached the fort of Bundhelkhand just by the roadside view, that pulled us out of taxi to visit. It was a grate feeling to be there with the better architecture of pre electricity era- better than the Taj. We reached tired at khajuraho, booked hotel to wake up and reach at Khajuraho temples before the first ray of sunlight. It was thrilling to be there with a hand and eyes on camera and ears for the guide’s discourse. The other sound of appriciation was “ W O N D E R F UL” with the French pronunciation from our great Amarjit Grewal. Discussing the women created here in better body than Europe. Salute to the mastermind and the artisans and to the excess they have done……….. g r e a t ….
