AMRITSAR VISIT WITH DR. N. GOPI (TELGU POET)

These days I am busy with the Indian poetry translations into Punjabi. One of friend poets from south Dr. N. Gopi a Telgu Poet , Professor and the yongest Ex. Vice chancellor of Osmania University, Hydrabad wished to see Amritsar when he was at Nabha to recite his poems in All India Poetry Festival organized by Sahitya Academy, Delhi and Racna Vichar Manch Nabha . Dr. Gopi (Gopal) has won Sahitaya Academy Award for his poetry collection “ Kalani Nidera Ponivanu” (Samay Ko Sone Nahin Doonga) in 2000. It was a special moment for me. We visited Darbar Sahib (The Golden Temple), Jalliyan Wala Bagh and Wagha Border along with my wife Manjit Kaur and Dr. Gopis wife Aruna ji. During this time discussions on Sikhism, Partition , British Rule and Patriotism went on and on…..
